i think we've become one of them...

i think we've become one of them...
yup, a seattleite.

i know, i know...huh?
you might have noticed different regions, cities, states
have a certain culture, a way to them.
seattle is no different...seattleites are one of a kind.

now before you freak out...we weren't really in yet...the club, you know.
because a lot of what we say and do is totally midwest.
so have no fear ;)

but on the other hand, we are totally becoming one of them.

let's start with coffee.
bran- big coffee drinker, always has been.
me- not so much....until about 3 years ago...
yup...now i love it...i blame the seattle area
everyone is always drinking it!

rain.
for anyone with curly hair knows, rain equals frizz!
normally (or a few years ago) i would freak out, cover my head and run.
now i just go with it...even if i just straightened it...
because lets face it, it's always raining...
and its hard to cover your head and run with a baby

food. folks in seattle love their food
so do people in the midwest
but new food? seafood? strange food?
being on a coast opens your eyes to new options.
pho
need i say more?
brandon eats it for breakfast.

babies...i think this is where we really are becoming more like seattleites.
parker is teething with some serious drool, snotty nose...the whole works
gross.
a friend said her son wears an amber necklace because it helps with teething.
normally, we would be super skeptical and forget about it.
but the other day, i got one
because seriously, if it works then no snotty nose!
hippies, i tell you, turning into hippies.

public transport...greatest thing ever
in seattle
elsewhere...i don't think so.

we vacation to portland
seriously...
it's awesome
and ten degrees warmer than seattle (on average)

we get really excited for sunny days
(disclaimer: most seattleites take the day off if the sun comes out, we are not there yet
but we do rush outdoors!)

these are the ones i've noticed...i'm sure there's more ;)

parker hiding those new teeth

dear parker,
seven months! wow! you are getting so big, so fast! each day you wake up and call out in your cute voice. it's like you are saying...mom, mom come get me! i'm ready to play! you have two teeth, the bottom two. you have been a super drool baby but have had a good attitude about it. you bite us sometimes to remind us to pay attention to you. you have graduated to be big boy part of the stroller and have outgrown a ton of clothes! you sit up all by yourself and spend a lot of time playing with your toys. you have discovered plastic bottles...love at first grab. you are eating a lot of solid food now. favorites are avocados and apples...yum! you like to stand and hold onto things. i think you would prefer to walk but are trying to crawl. i think you need to work on your arm strength still. you talk and talk and talk...oh and blow bubbles and spit...you are a charmer!
we love you so much!

a day at the park!

we headed out yesterday for a walk with C and C
we met at the park
and i thought...hey parker might like the swings!

so in he went
and he
LOVED it!

his face doesnt show it in the pictures but he was in love with the swing
towards the end he got all relaxed, leaned back with an attitude of "oh yeah, this is the life"
