life lately

life has definitely changed for brandon and i over the past year...

sometimes its really difficult to get used to

having a baby changes everything...as you probably could guess ;)

here are some of the big differences in our lives

eating out

then: fun, frequent, easy, relaxing, eating at the bar

now: quick depending on the level of crying, large amounts of stuff to bring, oh and table for three?

showers

then: ...lets face it, i'm not the type of person to shower everyday

gasp all you want...i'm just not

now: however....showers now are precious, time to self,  its wonderful

but still definitely not daily

 don't worry brandon showers daily since he is in the working world!

smells...

then: probably shouldn't go there

now: still probably shouldn't go there

weekends

then: sleeping in was rarely an option with bran (who wakes up at 5 on a saturday!)

now: mom! dad! it's 7 and i'm hunggggryyyyy!!!!

clutter

then: cookbooks, socks, cookbooks, cooking magazines and did i say cookbooks?

now: burpcloths, play mat, activity saucer, burpcloths, toys, burpcloths

leaving the house

then: gather everything, leave...two seconds later come back grab what you forgot

now: gather everything, change outfits full of spit up, leave...come back two seconds later, change again, grab what you forgot, leave...come back again, grab more of what you forgot with a possible third outfit change...

it's crazy but we love it

its becoming the new norm :)

it will probably all change again...once parker becomes mobile :)

five months

yup, that's right! five months!

Parker~ you are getting bigger each day. Every day brings a new expression, new things you notice or learn...you are really becoming a little person. You are often serious, taking in the world around you. You brighten our day with huge smiles, lots of chatter as you play, and wonderful noises you make with your mouth and well...other body parts! You just started to roll over and always look so proud when you flip onto your back. You love your activity center and will play for a long time in it. You just started in your jumper and are not totally sure what its for yet. But we are positive that once you figure it out it will be your favorite toy. You love to chew on everything! Toys, fingers. mom and dad are your favorite things to put in your mouth. No teeth yet but we think soon!  You are becoming quite the little man.

You become an older cousin this month. When we told you about your cousin you smiled as though you completely understood us! I am sure you two will be great friends. You also went on your first airplane this month and did awesome! You were super popular on the flight and smiled at everyone :)

Each day your dad and i are amazed by you and could not see our lives without you.

we had a wonderful trip! parker did awesome on the plane rides (minimal crying, lots of smiling and laughing, he made a lot of friends on the flights)

we had a busy few days...lots of new people to met and new surroundings! it was a lot of fun but we are glad to be home!

we've been a pretty miserable, pathetic bunch 

i do have to say i miss sleeping through the night!

parker has been getting up...sometimes multiple times during the night...

mainly because he isnt eating as much do to a super stuffy nose!

snuggles with dad are the best when not feeling good!

of things we want to experience before moving from seattle

don't worry we are not moving anytime soon!

but its fun to have a list of things we want to do

so when we are bored we look at the list and pick one!

this friday we decided to go on a date just the three of us :)

we went to dick's drive-in...a seattle landmark!

some fun facts...

they are only in seattle

when they first opened in the 50's their burgers were 19 cents!

the burgers are still cheap

and did i mention yummy!

parker totally enjoyed the experience...a car ride, standing in line outside, back in the car to eat, and then a drive home...then off to bed!

it was fun and we get to check it off the list!

 by the way i've heard you aren't an official seattlite until you've had dick's...

i guess we are official now :)

yummmm...why did we wait so long to try?!?

we had a wonderful first christmas with parker!

he has quite the action packed week

on christmas eve brandon worked from home in the morning

parker was thrilled to have extra action!

brandon and parker then went grocery shopping and secret shopping.

we went to the christmas eve service at church

parker loved the candles being lit! he sat through the whole service!

we then went to the c's for dinner...sooo yummy!

christmas morning was filled with excitement!

we opened up boxes of gifts

parker watched the whole time :)

and then took an hour nap!

we then went to the k's for christmas celebrations :)
parker made it through his first movie!

the day was full of good food, friends and fun!

 new toys!

 great grandpa made me a train!! woot woot!

so excited!

parker, you are too cute for words. you are becoming quite the little person. at four months you make lots of noises which are so fun to hear. you cry pretty loud and sometimes we let you cry for a long time...we feel bad but sometimes you just aren't ready for bed or ready to stop crying. you normally sleep thru the night! yea, let's keep that up! you are starting to nap on a daily basis. you follow your mom and dad as they walk around the house. you love your toys and they usually end up in your mouth. parker, your smile is awesome and you love to share it with us. when we let you come into bed with us you stretch your arms out and kick your legs! you are trying to sit up but often fall forward. you love to stand up on my lap while i hold you hands. you make a funny face when you are pooping and smile after the job is done.

parker, you are pretty great and we love you soooo much!
