a day in the life of madalyn and parker

I haven't done one of these in a loong time. mainly because i haven't really had the time to sit and write. parker and madalyn certainly have been keeping us busy...along with work and other normal stuff! i should be working right now but i'm recovering from a cold and having a bit of trouble focusing so...here i am! lucky you :)

here is a normal day with our almost 9 month old and almost 2 and a half year old!!

7ish- madalyn wakes up. i ignore her for a little while but since she is in our closet its difficult to. she claps her hands when you enter to get her which is pretty awesome!

7:30 we're downstairs, madalyn plays on the floor while i drink coffee. parker usually gets up between now and 8.

 

8:00 parker eats a banana (nanaana) and watches george while madalyn gobbles up some oatmeal and prunes. i then make a smoothie for p and i. he drinks that and has yogurt or oatmeal or peanut butter on a spoon.

9ish- madalyn goes down for her first nap. while she naps, parker plays with his cars and trucks and i clean up breakfast, the kitchen or whatever else.

10:30/11- depending on the day, we either head to the park, story hour, m2m/story hr, or hang at home. if it's wednesday, parker goes to preschool by 9:30 and madalyn and i work in bellevue.

12:30- lunch! parker loves his peanut butter and jellies but has been know to eat my cheese and avocado sandwich :) I've stopped eating while they are up!

1:15 naptime for both! hooray! work for me

4ish- both are up. playtime and snacks. facetiming or skyping with grandparents. a bit of dinner prep.

5- daddy's home!

5:30- dinner for parker and madalyn

6- more time for play

6:45- bathtime

7- snuggles, stories and bed!

7:15- brandon and i eat dinner and watch tv, talk and relax

9:30/10- bed!

our days.

it's been a while since we've done one of these but i enjoy looking back to see if our days are different or the same :)

5:30am- brandon's alarm goes off. he's working summer hours which means he works long days monday thru thursday and come home early on friday!

6am- madalyn wakes up to eat (she's been sleeping 7-8 hours!!!)

6:15- madalyn takes brandon's spot in bed and we both fall back to sleep

7:30 - 8:30- parker wakes up, I wake up and we head downstairs for breakfast. banana for parker, smoothie for me (and p) then oatmeal. 

8:15ish- most mornings parker will watch an episode of curious george while i get madalyn, feed her, pump, eat my breakfast. he loves george!! i often hear him say, "oh no" and "george!" and laugh as he watches. i love that he is starting to understand the story lines. 

9am- we are all up by this point and fed.

9:15- we move back up stairs to get dressed and get ready for the day.

10am- out of the house! we are off to the park, story hour, playing outside, or if we have the car running errands (with a stop to the park of course!) this is a great time of day...madalyn normally naps while we are out. it allows parker and i to have time together!

11:30 we head home for lunch (parker eats while i feed madalyn)

(i always pack a lunch...b/c he normally falls asleep if we've been out all morning!)

12:15- 1pm- get ready for naps (this is a tricky time...madalyn is normally awake and parker needs to go down for his nap. he is always very concerned for "baby sister". most of the time she lays on the bed while we read and get ready for naps...but occasionally she screams and cries and parker ends up being shuffled off to bed with one story instead of two :( )

1:15pm- madalyn and i hang out downstairs. i finally eat lunch while she coos and plays. i start working. she normally eats one more time and then snuggles in for a nap.

2 to 3:30pm- sooo quiet! i work while the kids nap

(i've been biking either in the morning before we head out for the day or right after naps...he doesn't always approve)

3:30pm parker gets up from his nap

4:00- snacks, playing outside, playing trucks or facetiming.

(waiting for dad...with a snack!)

4:30pm- dad's home! more playing! normally parker asks to ride his bike/scooter at this point. helps with watering.

5:15- dinner for parker (he normally has leftovers from the day before) brandon preps our dinner while i sit with parker or care for madalyn

(tomato from garden! hooray!)

6:00pm- more playtime...lots of running and screaming. chase is parker's favorite game with dad. madalyn loves to sit in her bounce and watch.

7pm- bathtime! and stories! (madalyn normally hangs out...but every once and while she decides to cry...then brandon does all of the bedtime routine with p)

7:20- we all gather on the bed and i read two stories. then hugs and kisses (parker is so good about saying good night to madalyn) then brandon swaddles parker and off to bed.

7:45- brandon and i eat. madalyn snoozes for a bit

we watch a show through amazon prime...its addicting to be able to watch episode after episode of the same show!

9:30pm madalyn gets a bottle from brandon

10pm- we all head up to bed!

10:10- sleep!

a day in the life of us @ 15 months

i haven't done one of these in a while and life is different yet the same :)

thought it would be good to document before it changes again!
(i had this done a couple of weeks ago and forgot to hit post!)

9:15am wake up...yes parker and i are lazy. i am just enjoying it while it lasts (I know it will end soon...either he'll start waking up earlier or in may it will change!)

9:30- breakfast and milk. parker ate pumpkin spice muffins. i made a smoothie (which we shared) then eggs...

10- run around and play. i clean up

11- we got ready to head out for a walk and playing at the park

it was wet! lite drizzle but parker and his buddy were all over running around!

12:45- home for lunch

1:20- upstairs for a nap (a little later than normal due to sleeping in late)

1:30- worktime!

 4:15 wake parker up from nap (he would sleep longer if we let him!)

4:45 dad's home! playtime!

 5pm on...dinner, running around, playing, reading books,
bathtime and bed :)

a day in the life of a nine month old.

hello. happy friday. erica awhile back documented landon and her day..so fun! 

so here we go...a look into our day to day!

6:45am brandon's alarm goes off, he gets ready for work.

7:25 parker decides its time to get up by chatting away in his bed (love listening to him

we then head down stairs for breakfast!

 i quickly clean up the kitchen and get breakfast ready

 parker loves breakfast :)

blueberries and oatmeal for him.

coffee and blueberries for me.

 
he then demolished a banana!

8:30- playtime! parker plays while i clean up the kitchen

i squeeze in a little baking while he scoots about

9:30 naptime! worktime for me

 11:45 up and ready for action! reading some books while mom cleans the upstairs
and downstairs

 moved downstairs for move cleaning and getting into stuff :)

12:30 lunch time!
peas, egg yolk and applesauce were on the menu today

1:30 more cleaning and sharing stealing mom's lunch
house is finally clean! yay!

 1:45- helping fold laundry

2:15 nap number 2...so peaceful
 
i'm back at work...although the school year is ending...mission trip planning is in full swing!

 3:30 hello! guess who's back!

4:15 dad's home! hooray!

parker ate half an avocado
 we then went for a walk...forgot the camera
5:15 parker and brandon went to the store, i finally showered and started packing for the weekend! (we are headed to the mcg's this weekend!!)

 6:45 headed up stairs for reading a book and a bath

not a fan of putting on the pjs :(

 7:30 relaxing and working while brandon finishes making dinner

then dinner, some tv and bed!
steak with onion and mushroom, roasted carrots and kale...yummy!
